Brunello di Montalcino Altesino

Brunello di Montalcino Altesino

In the heart of south Tuscany, far away from heavy traffic and the main industrialised areas, the surrounding panorama has never changed and is mostly wild: Montalcino.

Montalcino and its wines represent an inseparable binomial, created by age-old traditions and culture, which has moulded the landscape and fundamentally shaped its social-economic appearance. This is the unique, unparalleled home of Altesino.

The simple walls of Palazzo Altesi in the center of the company core were built in the mid 15th century by the noble family Tricerchi, their coat of arms made of white marble can still be seen above the ancient oak door.

Part of Altesino’s historical cellars is situated within the historic walls of Palazzo Altesi, while behind the vineyards and benefiting from a natural slope, its modern functional facilities were built; where fermentation, refining and bottling take place.

The estate overall covers approximately 80 hectares. The vineyards consist of 44 hectares, sub-divided into the “crus” of Altesino, Macina, Castelnuovo dell’Abate (in the district of Velona), Pianezzine and Montosoli (the latter always famous for the production of extremely elegant wines).

The Brunello Altesino:

Brunello has a brilliant ruby red colour, tending towards garnet red with age. Its bouquet is intense, pure, pleasant and refined, reminiscent of sweet violet, tobacco, chocolate and pleasant hints of wild berries and vanilla. Its flavour fully confirms the above in a well-balanced, full-bodied wine with elegant tannins.
