After 3 and something years from our last update, here we are with our updated version of the guide to our preferred restaurants. Unfortunately some of our previousely mentioned places are no more on business due to the difficulties of the pandemic period, but there are still a lot out there… Remember we have our Cooking Classes at Villa Landucci but there is so much out there too!
If you will arrive to Firenze by care we have another post ready for you, this is just to survive while in the city!!
Staying in Villa Landucci will allow you to walk along Via Gioberti every day, a lively road, extremely authentic and loved by the Florentine people that is a real place for amazing restaurants. You have our list the in exclusive “encountering” order.
Bistrò Centocanti, managed by Pino, is a modern location where, between tables and a back courtyard, you can enjoy salads, burgers, pasta, pizza ni several dough (i love the seeds one) and some iconic dishes of the italian kitchen. Do not forget the daily dishes written on the board as you get in! The fresh home made pasta made by Andrea in the PastaCorner by the windows allow you how they care about quality and passion. This is a perfect place for family with kids!! And if you are fans of Italian Soccer of the 90s… you might find the Lion King of Florence from time to time…

Just a few steps after, on the same side of the road, you will find Spartacus Bistrò. After a few years passed in a small Island in the Atlantic Ocean, Spartaco got back to Florence to open a new place. Fresh Fish and home made pasta as usual!! Nice, easygoing and not formal, good food and the authentic florentine spirit make this Bistrot a nice stop for both lunch and dinner.

Just crossing the roead you will fine Fuoripiazza, that i like to mention as an easy tavern. The owner is always busy in the kitchen and this make up her wife as the BigBoss of the place! Shorty and tiny she has the energy of an atomic bomb and a smile that let the sun pop up even in the rainy days! Tuscan food and iconic recipes, from time to time you can find the old style uncommon recipe “for the locals”.

Barrino is in my opinion THE restaurant of Via Gioberti. That little small attentive cuddle to every guest from Margherita or her daughter Beatrice and their male counterpart Andrea. It once was lady at the table, man in the kitchen but now it is no more this way. Update of 2024 is the Pastaia! She bring in fresh made pasta keep the historical dishes but also some new proposal for a very complete Tuscan Style service. Seasonal menu, every day there are a couple of “out of the book” that use to be a tasty surprise. Even after 3 years and new recipe my favourite is still the same: Scamorza and Anchovies stuffed and fried Zucchini Flowers!! I just try the cacao flavoured fresh pasta with gaming ragù!

Immediately after you will find Pizzeria la Luna, recommended to everyone but a must go for people that are intolerant to gluten. This place is present in the Italian Guide for Gluten free and have every single dishes prepared regular or gluten free, even the Tiramisù!! The next summer will be the third year of the little “Piazzetta” in the back of the Moon. Sorry but i do not have a picture of it, will solve it up soon!!
We accross the road one more time and you will find Osteria del Pesce. Andrea run it up with the help of her lovely wife and Giovanno to help in a tiny restaurant with huge quality. Tuna Tartarre with Granny Smith apple is my preferred but this is an extramenù, so not so easy to be found!

By the end of Via Gioverty you will find the best pizza of all Florence. A’Puteca created by Paolo and Susy, with the very important help of his sone Bruno that want to manage it already even if he is just almost 4 years old.48 hours of levitation for their dough, extreme quality products, “on sight” preparation and wook oven. Anyway being the best pizza means more than just making Pizza. Nice appetizer, pasta dishes and a selection of dessert of his home region: Campania. They also arrange cooking classes for pizza on request!

On the other side of the railroad starting from Villa Landucci we would like to point out two more places: La Piazza del Vino – old industrial complex remade restaurant – where all the world wines show themselves and ruled the place. Here they have the “Carte de vin” not only for the bottles like everywhere but also for the “Wine Glasses” in order to provide the opportunity of a simple try from some wine from all over the world. Are you going to a concert to the Mandela Forum ? Il Pallaio andAviazioneCivile are exactly on your way to the main concert hall of Florence!

Spostandoci verso il centro storico aumenta tantissimo l’offerta e noi continuiamo con le nostre preferenze culinarie in rigoroso ordine sparso.
Moving toward the city center you have lots of restaurant to choose with but we keep going with our choiches in scattered order
Natalino is one of the historical restaurant of Florence, located inside an old unholy church with a small outside patio in a pedestrian road. Gabriele will be able to drive you in your choices and propose the proper wine pairings. Thanks to him i discover one of my favourites wines about 20 years ago. What will you eat at Natalino’s? Florentine recipes obviousely, may fab three are Duck Breast Carpaccio, Pasta surprise with pear and gorgonzola and the TBone Steak!!

A few steps away from the Duomo, in a tiny street – via delle Oche – our friend Fabio runs Osteria dei Cicalini. Traditional tuscan dishes and a selection of wines from important name to small local producer as i Loghi of another friend, Valentino.
Along Via del Moro you can find two more great restaurants: Gargani – where Ivan and Lorenzo always have a special attention for every guest – and Giovanni where Caterina, Giovanni’s doughter, keep up the work and tradition of his father. What to order here? Whatever you like, from the classic tuscan to tuscan base with an international review. I never miss the Meringato Cake at Gargani and always order a bottle of Podere Campriano at Giovanni. This is the only restaurant that has it in all Florence and it is not even reported in the winelist. There should be a reason behind…

We end this Restaurant Run going DilàD’Arno in Santo Spirito Neighbour. Our long time friend Andrea runs Borgo Antico and T’Amerò perfect for lunch and dinner. Edoardo perfectly drive L’Osteria dell’Enoteca, with a special “not existing wine list” that is more a chat than just reading it. In the end we got Pandemonio. Here you have dinner in what was once a real home and you can still breath the presence of Mamma Giovanna. She use to teach everyone how to enjoy the TBone Steak, even if you are a real florentiner. “How dare you” if you do not call her Mamma, she was everyone’s mum and everyone remember great from her (and her superb Crostini obviousely)
A bit of romantic touch without being in a tourist trap? I’d say daBarba!! Francesco finally make his dream come true having his own restaurant. What can be more romantic that dining inside a dream along the Arno river??
Let us know your feedbacks and remember: Villa Landucci, you ask we spot it out for you!
